IoT product development services — concept to fleet, one accountable partner

Hardware, firmware, mobile, cloud, and manufacturing handoff in a single program. Whether you are starting with a sketch on a napkin or rescuing a half-built program, you ship faster with one team that does all of it.

30+ US-shipped IoT projects One PM, one engineering team Source & IP yours from day one

Why one team for the whole IoT stack

IoT products fail at the seams — between the firmware and the mobile app, between the BLE pairing flow and iOS backgrounding, between the device certificate and the cloud's authentication policy. Splitting an IoT program across three vendors triples the seams and triples the finger-pointing when a beta unit fails the day before a demo.

HydraTech is built to own the whole stack: schematic and PCB, embedded firmware, BLE and Wi-Fi stacks, iOS and Android apps, AWS IoT Core (or Azure IoT Hub), and the manufacturing handoff that gets your first hundred units into beta testers' hands. One project manager, one weekly check-in, one accountability surface.

What's in an end-to-end IoT program

Hardware

Schematic, multilayer PCB layout, signal integrity, antenna tuning, power budgeting, DFM, EVT/DVT/PVT.

Firmware

Bare-metal, FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ESP-IDF, or nRF Connect SDK — whichever fits your silicon and certification path.

Connectivity

BLE 5.x, Wi-Fi, LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, LTE-M. We pick what your device, battery, and TCO can actually afford.

Mobile app

iOS and Android, Flutter or native, with BLE pairing, background sync, OTA, and dashboards your end users can actually understand.

Cloud

AWS IoT Core, Device Shadow, IoT Jobs for fleet rollouts, code-signed OTA pipelines, Lambda integrations, and dashboards on Grafana, Amplify, or your existing web stack.

Manufacturing

Vetted PCBA, enclosure, and assembly partners. We manage cost, quality, lead time, and the run-by-run progression so volume ramp is not a surprise.

How we run a program

  1. Discovery (1–2 weeks). Architecture, BoM target, certification path, risk register, written estimate.
  2. Prototype (4–8 weeks). First working units, often hand-assembled. Firmware shows the core experience end-to-end on the real silicon.
  3. EVT (4–6 weeks). First PCBA spin against production-intent hardware. Tested for power, BLE, mechanicals, and the experience your beta testers will actually see.
  4. DVT (4–8 weeks). Tighten manufacturing tolerances, finalize regulatory testing, run certification (FCC, CE, IC, MIC, RCM, FDA as applicable).
  5. PVT & launch. Pilot production run, line bring-up, calibration fixtures, and serial-number / cert provisioning for the first commercial batch.

FAQ

Can you take an idea all the way to a shipped product?

Yes. Concept and architecture, schematic and PCB, firmware, mobile app, cloud, DFM review, and introductions to vetted contract manufacturers — all in one program with a single point of accountability.

What is a realistic budget for a full IoT product program?

A first-revision build from concept to working pilot units typically runs between $80k and $250k depending on certification scope, sensor complexity, and app surface. We give you a written estimate after a free discovery call.

Do you work with US-based contract manufacturers?

Yes. We have shipped programs to CMs in the US, Vietnam, and China. We will pick the right partner for your volume, certification, and IP-sensitivity requirements.

What happens after the product ships?

We offer ongoing maintenance retainers — OTA fleet management, firmware bug fixes, regulatory documentation updates, and on-call response for production incidents. Many of our clients keep us on at 4–16 hours per week post-launch.
